Victorian restored panel now installed

Victorian stained glass stairway light, fully restored.

Over the last few months I have been working on the restoration of a large stair light from a house in Rhynie. The panel was originally a single window, but when it was removed for restoration it was obvious that it should be split. The panel contains a beautiful large central painted section, and to avoid a support bar obscuring the painted work we constructed a zinc-rebar armature (below).

Images of the removal process can be seen in the Restoration Gallery here.
