Thurso West Kirk

​We are very pleased to announce Morning Glass Designs will be working on the restoration of several stained glass windows in Thurso West Kirk. The work involves the removal of 3 windows which were restored in unsuitable glass, reconstruction of these panels in a new configuration (to remove hopper vents) and reinstallation, as well as providing workshop-based training in the fundamentals of stained glass removal, repair and installation as part of a funded scheme.

Work on the project (which will be carried out in association with Michael Zappert Leaded Lights, Aboyne) is being overseen by Edinburgh-based conservation architects Addison Conservation & Design. The windows are scheduled for removal in early June, and the refurbishment of the church (which includes the building of a new south entrance) will take several months.
