Gilded Wheel Cut Transom, Aberdeen
Restored reverse gilded transom, Aberdeen. This wheel-cut design (with carved designs bit like a crystal goblet) is very unusual for Aberdeen, and extremely hard to replicate. The patchy old gold leaf and paint was cleaned off in-situ, rather than taking it out of its frame and disassembling. The panel was then re-gilded with 23.5ct loose leaf gold.
