Reproduction Victorian Church Window, Cornhill

One of our final projects this year has been the installation of this large reproduction window in Cornhill, Banffshire. The original was badly bowed, with damaged paintwork and glass missing due to the weight of a hopper vent in the lower panel pulling the window apart.

When we removed the panel (in sections as the lead was not strong enough to keep the window coherent when it came out the frame) we discovered the remaining glass paint was extremely unstable. We estimated around 80% of the paint was missing, so made the decision to remake the entire window and archive the existing glass.
