Gilded Commercial Entranceway, Aberdeen
We recently completed this gilded number and lettering for a commercial property in Silver Square, Aberdeen. The original gilded number had flaked badly, and had been backed up with gold paint as a stopgap.
For this project, we carried out the gilding in the studio rather than in-situ. This allowed us to use conservation grade clear glass to replace the existing, badly scratched glazing. We took a template from the wooden frame to cut the replacement glass, meaning the original glazing was in place until we could fit the newly gilded panel.
