Sculptural glass casting
Yesterday I was in Stonehaven to discuss a long-term sculptural project for a new-build care home. The building is almost complete, and now the windows are in we can measure up and build the steel frame to house the piece.
The 6 sheet cast glass sculpture ("Haven") was designed by Gabi Reith, and I'll share a few process images on here while it's being built.
In the afternoon, Emma and Kevin from the Scottish Sculpture workshop came over to do a test firing in my little kiln (left). Emma, an Edinburgh-based artist, is working at SSW to cast 160 "leaves" made by school children from Mull.
