Restored Leaded Glass, Kincardine Castle

The first studio I rented was an old farm building on Kincardine Castle estate on Deeside. I’ve done a number of repairs there over the years, and love to revisit this grand and much loved family home.

This bedroom window was badly damaged in the storms last year, so when the Estate contacted us to say they had a cherry picker coming for roof and gutter repairs, we were able to remove the window to our studio for repair. Damaged sections were replaced with a mix of restoration grade clear glass from Schott, and some salvaged Victorian glass. Unfortunately I didn’t get any images of the restored panel, or the neighbouring window which we re-cemented in order to improve waterproofing.
