Restored Victorian Sidelight, Aberdeen

The weather this spring has been pretty poor, and, as a consequence, we have a large stack of windows waiting to be installed. A break in the rain saw me in Aberdeen today, installing the panel pictured above.

The original window had been made too large, and had been installed with almost all the exterior lead cut away. With the glass of the sacrificial strip hard against the wooden frame, we had to break 90% of the border glass to remove the panel. Luckily we have boxes of reclaimed Victorian sacrificial strip, and we were able to make the panel smaller in order to ease fitting while still retaining the original colour scheme.
